This year, Femme Fatale DC made significant strides towards our goal of owning our current building, 3409 Connecticut Ave. NW.
Femme Fatale DC has been awarded funds from the Commercial Property Acquisition Fund...this is a big deal.
Awardees of this fund receive a portion of a $4 million fund awarded from Mayor Bowser and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, in partnership with the Council of the District of Columbia.
Cee Smith, the owner and CEO of Femme Fatale DC, attended the three-part mandatory training required to receive this funding and ushered the business through the process. She said, “This was one of the most challenging processes I have ever grown through.”
So! Thank you, Cee, for putting in the long hours and hard work to ensure locally-owned businesses have a home in DC!
Throughout the process, the entire team has created experiences and events, crafted language, raised awareness and dollars, kept the shop humming, and shared the labor of growing a social enterprise. We could not be more grateful for the creative direction from Adriana Mendoza and the brand management and grant writing from Briget Heidmous.
