Activity of the Night: Jewelry Making

In this brief intro session, we’ll be creating jewelry that’s easy to make and looks beautiful!

These pieces don’t require any torches or heavy machinery, so you can make these with just a few tools and your own creativity!

No RSVP needed, Walk-in’s welcomed.

Cost: $15

Details:

You’ll be introduced to the art of jewelry making by creating hammered adjustable rings in silver and copper.

Using a hammer, a few files, and sandpaper that we’ll have on hand for you to use- you’ll create jewelry that’s long lasting and beautiful!

Once you have these skills, you’ll be able to dive deeper into the world of jewelry making and create endless pieces of wearable art!

This class will be led by Lisette Bez of Metal & Stone Creations. Lisette is a traditional goldsmith trained in South America, with over 7 years of experience creating repurposed and custom designed jewelry.

Activity of the Night: Aura Photos

Auras are thought of as the unseen field of energy surrounding a person's physical body. They're affected by our mood and emotional state (and sometimes the states of others). Different colors are associated with different qualities and emotions (for instance did you know that a green aura is considered someone who is loving, compassionate, and peace oriented?). Someone's aura is usually a combination of colors, with one being more dominant than the others and can change over time. Aura photography started and was popularized in the 1970’s, by scientist Guy Coggins , who adapted techniques and designed a camera (Auracam 3000) with Kirlian photography. Coggins transformed electrical input to transform into colors that we see in aura photos. Since then the Auracam6000 has been created and are often hard to find. For Femme Fatale DC’s event I will be creating FAUX aura photos as I do not consider myself an aura clairvoyant. Each photo will be unique and is for fun!

Cost: All images are $25 per person ($5 will be donated from each photo to Femme Fatale DC to go towards their fundraiser to purchase the current building they are occupying). Any additional images is a $10 add on.
