🧵 Stitching Our Stories: A Community Art Build 🎨
Calling all creatives, storytellers, and lovers of all things handmade! Join @lovestoriesvintage and Femme Fatale DC for a hands-on, heart-filled day of art, storytelling, and stitching magic!
PLEASE NOTE THE LOCATION OF THE EVNT. This event will take place at the Chevy Chase Pavilion. We will be one of the activities at the Goodwill and Trishtan Foods Sip and Swap.
We’re inviting youto dive into our stash of salvaged textiles, trinkets, and upcycled materials to create your own one-of-a-kind fabric patch. Every piece tells a story—your story. And when we stitch them all together, we’ll create a breathtaking backdrop for our shop’s register area—a living, breathing testament to the beauty of community and connection.
In these challenging times, it’s more important than ever for us to honor our uniqueness and understand our own personal narratives. Every stitch, every patch, is a reminder that we’re all part of something bigger.
🎨 Need a little guidance? No worries! Local refashion designer Kristin Adair (@lovestoriesvintage) will be on hand to teach participants basic textile art and hand-stitching techniques to work with the upcycled materials.
So grab a friend (or come solo and make new ones!), bring your creativity, and let’s weave a masterpiece that celebrates our unique stories.
💖 Come, create, connect, and leave your mark on something truly special. We can’t wait to stitch with you!
