Activity of the Night: Jewelry Making

In this brief intro session, we’ll be creating jewelry that’s easy to make and looks beautiful!

These pieces don’t require any torches or heavy machinery, so you can make these with just a few tools and your own creativity!

No RSVP needed, Walk-in’s welcomed.

You’ll be introduced to the art of jewelry making by creating hammered adjustable rings in silver as well as gemstone accented earrings.

Using a hammer, a few files, and sandpaper that we’ll have on hand for you to use- you’ll create jewelry that’s long lasting and beautiful!

We’ll also explore gemstones to create earrings that you’ll be able to wear! We’ll provide the materials for you and guide you along in your creation process. 

 Once you have these skills, you’ll be able to dive deeper into the world of jewelry making and create endless pieces of wearable art!

This class will be led by Lisette Bez of Metal & Stone Creations. Lisette is a traditional goldsmith trained in South America, with over 7 years of experience creating repurposed and custom designed jewelry.

Behtarin’s sound is psychedelic, inspired by DC's multicultural experience and infused with her Afghan American heritage. She plays everything from downtempo to disco but loves medicine music: "slow and steady wins the race"

She comes to us from Sisters in Sound, a grassroots collective that champions women DJs and producers.
